William McCarthy

William E . "Bill" McCarthy , 72, of Lynnfield and Captiva, FL died on Tuesday, September 28 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Boston on October 5, 1937 he was the son of the late Warren and Vera (Graham) McCarthy .

Bill was a graduate of Winchester High School, Class of 1955 and Babson College. He was the owner of W.E. McCarthy Inc., and McCarthy Self Storage both of Medford.

Bill had been a Lynnfield resident since 1972 and a Captiva, FL resident since 1985. He was an avid boater and fisherman.

He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Ann (Fox) McCarthy , the proud father of Peter E . McCarthy of Gloucester, Linda McCarthy of Belchertown, and Paula McCarthy Haas and her husband Greg of West Newbury. He was the brother of Maurice McCarthy of Winchester, and the late Eugene McCarthy and Mae Liberty. He was also the loving grandfather of Kate, Ally and Emily Haas.

Relatives and friend may call at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the charity of one's choice.
