William Kenney

William F. Kenney, 85, of North Andover formerly of Wakefield died on Monday, February 20 at his residence.

Born in Haverhill on July 17, 1926 he was the son of the late Margaret (Mulcahy) Kenney.

Bill was a graduate of Malden Vocational High School, Class of 1947. He was the former Director of the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce, past chairman and secretary of the Wakefield School Committee and former Wakefield Rotarian. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kenney was the former owner of Andover Institute of Business in Lynn. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus in North Andover and Danvers, St. Michael Church in North Andover and a former member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield.

Bill was the husband of Donna M. (Tufts) Kenney and the late Eleanor (Barahora) Kenney. He was the father of Diane L. Brogan and her husband Eugene of ME & FL, William P. Kenney and his wife Faith of Chelmsford and David G. Kenney and his wife Kathleen of Plymouth. He was the step-father of Chris McNabb and her husband Kevin of CA, Patricia Nestor of Danvers and Rick Puopolo of SC. He was the grandfather of Erin and Jaclyn LeBre and Tyler Kenney, step-grandfather of Justin Kerschner, Cindy Pavusko, James Nestor, Amanda Nestor and Danielle Nestor and step-great grandfather of Hunter Kerschner.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Michael Church, 196 Main St, North Andover at 12 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
