William M. McAllister, Jr., 86 a Stoneham resident since 1978 died Tuesday February 7, at Woodbriar of Wilmington.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, April 5, 1925 he was the son of the late William M. and Jeanne (Irvine) McAllister.
Bill was raised in Medford and educated in the Medford Public School System. He was a World War II Air Force veteran, and a member of the VFW Post 1012, in Medford. Bill was a retired Truck Driver for Local 25. He had worked for Holmes Trucking and Mills Transfer Co.
Bill is survived by his wife Rita F. (Doran) McAllister, his 6 children, Sandra L Iandoli and husband Kenneth of Burlington, Linda M. Hanley of DeLand, FL, William E. McAllister and wife Suzanne of Tewksbury, Robert S. McAllister and wife Anne of Stoneham, Susan R. Drew and husband James of Andover, and Lisa Servello and husband Greg of DeLand, FL. His brothers Jean Radwill of Wells, VT, Nettie Young of Belchertown, and the late Harry and Jack McAllister, and Peggy Riley. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8 p.m.
Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
