William J. McCarty, of Stoneham died on Saturday, December 12 at the E.N Roger's VA Hospital in Bedford.
William was born in Medford on July 27, 1947 and was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Todd) McCarty.
William was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked and retired as a painter. He was a train enthusiast, enjoyed making model cars and making trips down to Cape Cod. He was very handy and a great carpenter who rebuilt his house and a variety of other projects.
William was the beloved husband of Lorraine C. (Zwicker) McCarty. He was the loving father of Cynthia L. McCarty of Eastham, James R. McCarty of Stoneham. He was the brother of Edna DeSimone of Wilmington, Edward McCarty of Chatham, and Elaine McCarty of Reading.
His Funeral Services will be private. Interment was held at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham.
