William Connell III

William P . Connell , III , 77, of Stoneham died on Saturday, August 31 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.

Born in Melrose on July 24, 1936 he was the son of the late William P . Jr., and Gertrude (Hankinson) Connell .

Mr. Connell was raised in Malden. He had served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Connell was a member of the Stoneham Redmen Club and American Legion. He enjoyed summers in Maine.

Mr. Connell is survived by his wife Claire (McLaughlin) Connell , his five children; Karen Primeau and her husband Robert of Dedham, Theresa Murphy and her husband Burt of Stoneham, William P . Connell IV, of Maine, James F. Connell and his wife Kathleen of Stoneham and Patricia Langill and her husband Raymond of Stoneham, his brother James Connell of Malden and his sister Kathleen Barry of Florida. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11am. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the MSPCA- ANGELL Attn: Donations, 350 So. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or to the Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, MA 02150.
