William R. Pepe, 71, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Monday, January 1 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Winchester on October 17, 1946, he was the son of Vienna (DiTonno) Pepe of Wakefield and the late William C. Pepe of Wakefield.
Mr. Pepe was raised and educated in Wakefield. He was a self-employed carpenter and was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Pepe is survived by his son Scott M. Pepe of Stoneham, his daughter Kathryn R. Muise of Rowley, his three grandchildren; Zackary Pepe, Tyler Roberts and Hannah Lightbody, his aunt Janet DiTonno of Wakefield and his best friend Dennis Sowyrda of Wakefield.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-8pm. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10am. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
