William F. Spinney (Bill), Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at home on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Bill was a printer by trade for over 55 years. He loved his Boston sports teams (especially the Red Sox), his family vacations to Weirs Beach every summer when his family was young, and trips to Las Vegas & Florida. He also enjoyed his trips to the casino and above all, his scratch tickets.
Bill was the devoted husband of Alice K. (Tracy) Spinney with whom he shared a deep, loving bond for 57 years.
Bill was the beloved father of William F. Spinney, Jr. and his husband Sam Neis of New Bedford, Michael Spinney and his wife Michelle of Trinity FL, Maureen Conlon and her husband Eric of Melrose and Kathleen Skobe of Wakefield. Bill was the beloved grandfather of Kelli Ann, Patrick, Cameron, Emma and Hannah Spinney, Benjamin and Olivia Conlon, Adam and Max Skobe, and the late Matthew Spinney. Bill was the beloved great-grandfather of Stella, Mason and Brady Spinney and Cayden Ortega. He is survived by his in-laws, Geraldine Ridings, Fred Tracy, Arthur and Barbara Tracy and Richard Umbro. He was the brother of the late Ruth Walsh, Margaret Leonard, Doris Umbro, Robert and Raymond Spinney. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Ridings) Spinney. Additionally, he survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday December 18 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Thursday December 19 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
