William Mathews

William W . Mathews , 60, of Stoneham, died on Friday, November 14 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Born in Detroit, MI on September 11, 1948 he was the son of Allen T. and Mollie A. (Wynn) Mathews of New Jersey.

Mr. Mathews was a graduate of East Orange High School in New Jersey, Rochester University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was a retired software engineer for Brook Trout in New Hampshire.

Mr. Mathews had been a Stoneham resident since 1984. He was very active in the Wakefield Youth Soccer and Basketball programs.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Judith (Daly) Mathews and two children, Amanda A. Mathews and Nicholas "Nick" W . Mathews both of Stoneham.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
