Winston Moore

Winston C. "Winnie" Moore, 86, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, May 2 at his home.

Born in Chelsea on May 1, 1926 he was the son of the late William and Hilda (Parsons) Moore.

Mr. Moore was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1944. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Mr. Moore had retired from the Wakefield office of the U.S. Postal Service in 1986 after 43 years. He was a life member of the Wakefield Elks Lodge 1276, the V.F.W. and a 70+ year member of the Greenwood Union Church.

Mr. Moore was the husband of Margaret H. "Peg" (Findlay) Moore. He was the father of Wayne Moore and his wife Maureen and Cynthia Moore, all of Wakefield and Janice Doren of Reading. He was the brother of the late Lester and Berkley Moore and the grandfather of Eric Doren and his wife Andrea, Julie Martineau and her husband Christopher and Shaun Moore. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11:00.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. For obit, directions, guestbook
